Now think about your sweet furry friend for a minute... Their sense of smell is somewhere between 10,000 and 100,000 times more sensitive than ours. It's not hard to imagine that they might be attracted to the pleasantly sweet smell of a candle too.

There are certainly some things to keep in mind when it comes to protecting your pet (like keeping them away from lit candles, etc.). Here's everything you need to know about candles and how they relate to your pets.

Synthetic scents could have a negative effect on individuals or pets with respiratory issues (think asthma, etc.).
While most of the essential oils we use are perfectly safe for use in your home or in bath bombs, some essential oils may trigger sensitivities in both humans and pets. If you have pets in your home, you may want to avoid certain scents, as they have the highest tendency to aggravate your pets' sensitivities. To be safe, with pets in your home, you should avoid: Eucalyptus, peppermint, clove, tea tree, wintergreen, and pine oils.
Note: This mostly comes down to the concentration of essential oils - certainly don't put any of the aforementioned oils in direct contact with your pet's fur or skin.

An open-air room that has good air flow can help your dog's nose and eyes from becoming irritated.
