Jackpot’s standard size for the classic soy wax glass jar candles is 12 ounces. What that means in candle-speak is that you get approximately 80 hours of burn time if you follow best candle practices like:

• trimming your wick to around 1/4” before each burn
• letting the surface of the candle melt fully during the first burn
• never burning your candle for more than four hours at a time. 

When you follow these simple tips each time you ensure a safe, efficient burn which results in less wasted wax when your wick is gone and the max amount of dreamy, candlelit moments!

How many scented candles should I burn in my room?

Jade: Hi Jaquie,

I love this question because only a true candle lover worries about how many candles are too many. I’ve been there! The answer to your question depends on the size of your room and the size of the candles. 

If you’re trying to figure out how many candles to burn in your room at once, there are a couple of things to keep in mind. 

The 8 x 10 Rule

If your goal is to make sure that the fragrance of your scented candle spreads through the room, then follow the 8 x 10 rule. That means for every 10 sq feet of room, you need one 8-ounce scented candle. 

Community spaces like your kitchen or living room may need more candles or larger candles for full coverage. Jackpot’s scented candles are 12 ounces and will cover a larger space with your favorite scent. 

Safety First

If your room is big enough that light more than one candle at a time, make sure to do so safely. Always place candles out of reach of kids and pets, and away from anything flammable. Make sure to blow out each of the candles when you leave the room and that you don’t burn any for more than four hours at a time.
