How long does it take to find a ring in your candles?

Jade: Hi @jpdossett!

Thanks for your question! The answer depends on what kind of candle you buy. First, we’ll talk about the amount of time it can take for your jewelry to emerge, and then I’ll tell you about the steps to get it out. 

Our average sized candle (12-ounce jar candle) burns for about 80 hours. This varies based on several factors:

• whether the wick is trimmed to the recommended length
• whether all safety recommendations are followed (never burn longer than 4 hours!)
• if the entire top surface of the candle melts during the first burn

You may start to see the top of your jewelry within the first few hours of burning but depending on the placement of the jewelry it could take as long as half of the candle’s total burn time before it’s ready to come out. 

Always wait for the jewelry to be fully exposed before you remove it and make sure your candle is extinguished! If you dig the jewelry out early you could damage the candle or damage the jewelry. 

When your jewelry is fully exposed and the candle is blown out, its safe to remove the jewelry from the jar and find out how much it’s worth. Click on the “Appraisal” header on our website then enter the code attached to your jewelry as well as your email. You’ll then find out how much your new jewelry is worth – from $15 - $5,000!
