If you are here that means you made it to my weekly blog where I talk all things candles, bath bombs, relaxation, and all that goodness. But today we're focusing on the nose! The sniffer, has a very big job, from helping us sniff all of the beautiful sense of our jackpot candles the bath bombs to food to alert us of something sometimes it needs a break. How do you know you need a break? Well, it might show up in the form of olfactory fatigue or scent fatigue.
In layman's terms meaning that your nose has gotten used to the smell due to prolonged exposure so your brain almost ignores the smell so that different smells are more heightened. Does the form of sensory adaptation, the brain is pretty cool, huh?

The first easy fix is if you were sniffing multiple candles without lighting them, like myself, I wind up sniffing a lot of candles all the time as you can see from the beautiful shelf behind me which was just recently stocked. You can jolt your system by sniffing some lemons or coffee grounds, this will help your sniffer to reset itself. Or if you're burning candles and you're not really smelling it as much as you used to you got a mix it up. Switch it up!!
I've had my eucalyptus candle going strong recently, but I can't smell it as much as I used to. I'm going to light my warm apple pie candle (another personal fave) so that when I light up my eucalyptus candle a few days later I will smell it a lot stronger!!
Recommendation time if you were but having burning an earthy type candle I recommend going to our teakwood or our bamboo both beautiful options. Or have you have been riding a nice bright and clean sent Waze and you want to stick to it, I recommend eucalyptus or Chardonnay wine handle or our ocean breeze. Maybe you want to stick with the sweet stuff, the cozy sweetness, I recommend going to warm apple pie, pumpkin spice, caramel latte or fudgy brownie!
