Why is 100% Soy Wax Better?
You may already know that Jackpot candles are made from a blend of all-natural essential oils and 100% soy wax, but have you ever wondered why we think 100% soy wax is better than other options? Keep reading to find out why simple, quality soy wax is a superior material to use when we make your candle.
First, let’s talk about the other kinds of wax that other brand’s candles are commonly made of.
Paraffin Wax
One kind that you may have heard of is paraffin wax, which is a petroleum product mixed with animal or vegetable material. When burned, paraffin wax releases harmful chemicals into the air but guess what – 100% soy wax doesn’t! That’s one reason that we love 100% soy so much.
Soy Blends
Another type of wax that is commonly used in candles are “soy blends.” What that means is that if you buy a candle made from a soy blend it has some soy in the wax mix, but it has also been blended with another kind of wax or material.
This allows a company to say they are selling a soy candle, but it’s definitely not the same as 100% soy wax. The biggest problem with that is even if you know there’s soy wax used to make the candle there’s no way to know what the other materials are or how much of the wax is really soy.
Why We Choose 100% Soy Wax
There are many reasons that 100% soy wax is best. Some of those reasons are listed below.
When you make a candle with 100% soy wax you know that there are no other materials besides essential oils mixed into your candles. This is important if you’re concerned about air quality or even if you’re vegan and don’t want to risk unknowingly using an animal byproduct.
You’re also getting a candle that burns longer with scent that can release longer than many other brands. If you spill soy wax, it will clean easily from most surfaces, and when your candle is gone you can clean and reuse the jar too!
Simply put, soy wax is cleaner and more environmentally friendly than many of the most common soy wax alternatives which is why Jackpot candles uses 100% soy exclusively. So, no matter where you buy your candles, watch out for soy candle wannabees, and read those candle labels! You deserve high quality products with no mysteries about what they’re made of.
